The Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce is launching their “ShopLocal” Campaign, aimed at jump-starting a trend of commerce within the immediate area. Small businesses are the backbone to communities and each dollar kept at home increases sales tax revenue and helps conserve resources as residents stay within the community for their dining and shopping needs.
“During these times of economic uncertainty and fiscal instability we must work together with members of the community and local businesses to connect them and focus on creating ‘in-town’ commerce.”— Director Peter Tripodi The Board of Directors have encouraged Briarcliff Manor, Croton and Ossining businesses to get onboard with “special offers” for our shoppers. The Chamber will kick off “ShopLocal Week” during the 3rd Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 27th on North State Road in Town of Ossining. We will distribute 600 bags stuffed with coupons, deals and list of participating merchants. Plus each bag will have a “Shopper’s Card” which each participating merchant will validate when the shopper checks out. Then the shopper will mail that card back to the Chamber office to enter a raffle.
